So I was feeling a bit "Trashy"and in my mind i "recycled" some information about a movie i had watched about two years ago. It is called "Waste Land". Its a documentary about garbage pickers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. An artist Vik Muniz goes to Brazil and works with the garbage pickers to create art. He takes pictures of them. Some of the workers pose to recreate some of the most famous works of art. At one point he uses the garbage to create art. It's very interesting what he does.
Now, the condition in which the brazilian workers work is much better than the people in the Professor's book. They even have a union. But it is still a garbage dump. Its a great film. Check it out if you have a chance.
