How To Build A Fire...response

Recently I took a trip to Colorado.  I am not one for nature, but after taking this trip I found an appreciation for it.  The sites are beautiful and I will consider living there someday.  I think what they need to teach us in school is how to prepare for the worst, survival skills.  We live in this technological world, where we can find anything we want with a click of a button.  I am guilty of this.  I google for everything.  It is way quicker than walking over to the library to search for information.  For someone like me to get rid of all my possessions and get on a bus to the coldest place on earth would be ridiculous.  I agree with Rodrigo, I would not last 5 minutes in the wild.  I'm just not built for something like that.  I need indoor plumbing and heat that I do not have to make.  Yet, what would happen if everything that I depended on for survival was not there anymore?  Could I survive?  If I have the internet probably.  Some people say your instincts will kick in, but if someone like McCandless couldn't survive, why would anyone else take the risk?  I wonder if he was stubborn and knew that he would die, but didn't want to look like a fool so just stuck to it.  What an idiot?
What if???
