Thompson

I found Hunter to be quite the...rebel? If that word even suffices for the behavior we saw from a unsurprisingly intelligent guy. Watching the movie really clarified what we read of and from Hunter. It is a different vibe you get once you actually see that person acting...unethical? He wanted so much from this country...as many of us do. The aspect that really intrigued me was the fact that he was looking for the "American Dream." Sorry Hunter, it still doesn't exist....

  1. I find your thoughts on this quite interesting. I was also very perplexed by Hunter's search for the "American Dream." He did seem very genuinely interested in two different extremes of action, seeming sensitive despite his forthright nature. Perhaps he was angry at what he saw around him, with nothing ever being good enough.

Ironically enough, there was a Jeopardy question about him on the show yesterday, that described him as a "quiet and secret lunatic." I wasn't too sure what I though about that description after having read "Fear and Loathing." I have to say that I do semi-agree, but there seems to be so much more untapped potential with Hunter that it is hard to say. He almost seemed trapped, or possessed, in a way, and couldn't escape all of the radical thoughts in his head. Maybe he acted in the best way he could think to inspire change within his own sanity limits.
