Dear Westcliffe,
For just a week that felt like forever I have come to love you. I came to love the nature and rocky mountain scene. The walks that I would take in the early morning, climbing up rocky hills and breathing in the fresh air that Chicago never had. I fled from a city and escaped from a lost love. Nothing but the open road and bright stars in the night. There were hundreds of them in the sky that night when I forgot what it was like to have loved and lost.
You gave me an outlook on how simple life can be and what heartache that pained me from my life before it was all erased. When I was younger, I pictured myself going from one city to the next, and now all I can think of was the feelings I had when I was with you. Time stood still and waiting for happiness did not seem too long. The mountain tops don't seem to far a distance now.
That is Westcliffe, Colorado to me
